Estimator/Proposal Engineer

This position is for an inside sales position in Auburn Hills, MI with proposal and estimating experience; an individual who has excellent teamwork skills, but is also capable of using independent judgment. This individual would be responsible for estimating various projects, from simple equipment upgrades to complete robotic application and conveyor systems. Additionally this individual will interface directly to our customers and suppliers.


Senior Mechanical Engineer

The Senior Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for the design of all Esys equipment, and provides oversight to other Project Engineers, as well as suppliers, who may be involved in the design and/or engineering process.


Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineering Department is tasked with designing and commissioning the most efficient and reliable operational equipment, while adhering to budgets. The Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for new designs for automation manufacturing systems within the automotive industry.


Account Manager

The Account Manager is responsible for providing appropriate engineering automation solutions based on customer needs and leading industry provider trends. This position will utilize sales tools to plan and document progressive growth for new business. Account Manager must also maintain and develop a strong supplier customer relationship through partnership building, product knowledge, competitive analysis, new opportunity development while delivering a consistent professional approach of day to day activities. This position may also be involved in Estimating activities.


Controls Engineering Specialist

(Auburn Hills, MI) Utilize engineering technology knowledge and experience to assess client needs and develop, test and implement engineering automation solutions.  Examine and understand customer specifications and requirements and develop, design and program control software packages, robotic and controls equipment utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers and Human/Machine Interfaces including Allen Bradley and RS Logix5000 PLC software to meet specifications.  Participate in design tests to ensure proper functionality and ensure equipment is started up, commissioned and operated in accordance with specifications.  Develop operation manuals that detail the functionality and set-up.  Provide technical support and training to end-users.  Perform preventative maintenance to ensure minimum down-time and optimal operation of machines and equipment.

Automotive Project Controls Engineer

Job Duties:

  • Use knowledge of electrical circuits, Controls Hardware design, electrical panel design, pneumatic design, hydraulic design, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controller), HMIs (Human Machine Interface), robot programming, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drive), servo applications, and device communication networks (DNET, ENET, and Profibus) to design and develop automation products;
  • Develop and design the controls software packages utilizing PLCs with Allen Bradley and RS Logix5000, and/or HMI’s and conduct design tests;
  • Analyze customer-supplied specifications to draft operation manuals detailing functionality and equipment set-up to specifications;
  • Complete automation product testing and ensure commissioned equipment start- up meets customer requirements and specifications;
  • Research electrical and pneumatic schematics to develop industrial controls system knowledge and familiarity of working within industrial environments;
  • Perform preventative maintenance as requested by the customer to ensure minimum down-time and optimal operation of machines and equipment;
  • Utilize industrial safety practices to ensure proper functionality of products;
  • Complete industry analysis to ensure that Esys products and services continue to be the benchmark for the industry;
  • Utilize engineering knowledge to effectively communicate with customers and suppliers;
  • Assess client needs and implement engineering tasks and projects as a solution to the client’s needs.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Computer Engineering discipline or Technical Diploma that includes three years of college-level study;
  • 3+ years of experience designing software packages utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and/or Human/Machine Interfaces (HMI);
  • 3+ years programming any of the following types of robots: ABB, Fanuc, Kuka;
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of time;
  • Ability to work onsite within the Esys offices or at customer locations as required;
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Eplan;
  • Experience w urethane application;
  • Experience with machine vision applications (Cognex, Keyance, etc.), machine commissioning, and troubleshooting skills;
  • Experience with Electronic / PCB Design or Troubleshooting;
  • Experience with Micro Controller Programming, Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Systems, and Robot Interfacing;
  • Experience with Sealer Applications, Powertrain Applications, and Body Shop Applications
